Crossclip does one job: it turns a clip you already picked into a vertical video. The right alternative depends on whether you want a better editor or no editing at all.
Twitch · YouTube · Kick · TikTok + uploads & URLs on Creator Plus
Short answer: Crossclip still exists. Streamlabs runs it as Cross Clip, a web and mobile editor that turns Twitch and Kick clips vertical, free with a watermark and outro, or $4.99 a month for Pro on the App Store. The best free alternative is now Twitch itself, which saves a portrait version of every clip and lets channel owners post straight to TikTok. For more editing, use StreamLadder or CapCut. To skip editing, Eklipse finds clips in your VOD after the stream and ReelShift clips your live stream as it happens. Checked 15 October 2026.
Clips your live stream as it happens instead of reformatting old clips. Follows what you say and, on game streams, reads kills and wins off the screen. Every clip arrives 9:16 with word-synced captions burned in. "Clip that" voice command on every plan. Twitch, Kick, YouTube and TikTok LIVE. 7 day free trial, no free plan.
Twitch saves a portrait version of every new clip, auto cropped around your cam and gameplay, with Stacked or Full layouts on desktop. Channel owners can post straight to TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram and Snapchat. Captions if the streamer turned them on.
Free editor without a watermark, exporting 720p at 30fps. Starter ($15) adds captions, 1080p 60fps and posting to TikTok; Creator ($27) adds ClipGPT, which finds up to 30 clips per stream from Twitch and Kick.
A general video editor. Its site offers a free resizer with a 9:16 preset and free auto captions. Download your clip first.
Connect Twitch, YouTube or Kick and its AI finds game moments in each finished stream, cut vertical with captions. Posts to TikTok, Shorts and Reels. No free clipping tier; Premium is $24.99 a month or $179.99 a year.

Crossclip launched in 2021 and is still running. Streamlabs now spells it Cross Clip, and its page at streamlabs.com/cross-clip still pitches the same thing: convert your Twitch clips into TikToks, Shorts and Reels.
The App Store listing's latest update is version 2.6.1, from September 2024, a fix for Kick imports. It still works the way it always has: one clip at a time, chosen and framed by you.
They solve different problems.
The prices match the jobs. Cross Clip is free with a watermark, or $4.99 a month for Pro. Eklipse's help center says there is no free clipping tier any more: Premium is $24.99 a month or $179.99 a year, and a free account only previews one scanned stream.
Pick Crossclip if you post a few moments a week and like framing them yourself. Pick Eklipse if you play games on stream and want the moments found for you after the stream. See Eklipse alternatives if you are weighing it.
The thing Crossclip was built for is now inside Twitch. Per Twitch's help center, every new clip gets a portrait version next to the landscape one, auto cropped to keep your cam and gameplay in frame. On desktop, Edit Layout gives you a Stacked or Full portrait layout. The steps are in how to make Twitch clips vertical.
Twitch's help center also covers two things Crossclip users care about:
The limits: portrait editing is not on mobile yet, and it is still one clip at a time, after you notice the moment. For the whole TikTok flow, see Twitch clip to TikTok.
StreamLadder is the closest thing to a Crossclip upgrade. Its editor imports from Twitch, Kick, Trovo and YouTube, and basic editing never adds a watermark, exported at 720p and 30fps. Captions, effects, 1080p 60fps export and posting or scheduling to TikTok start on Starter at $15 a month. Creator, at $27, adds ClipGPT, which finds up to 30 clips per stream from Twitch and Kick. The full comparison is in StreamLadder alternatives.
CapCut is the general purpose option. Its site offers a free resizer with a 9:16 preset and a blur or color fill, plus free auto captions. It knows nothing about Twitch, so you download the clip first, but you get full control over text, cuts and sound. Caption tips in how to add captions to clips.
Every tool above starts with you finding the moment. ReelShift starts earlier. It watches your live stream on Twitch, Kick, YouTube or TikTok LIVE, follows what you say (stories, jokes, hot takes, big reactions) and on game streams reads kills and wins off the screen. Each moment comes back as its own clip, already 9:16 with word-synced captions, usually while you are still live. Say "clip that" to grab the last 60 seconds, on any plan.
Be clear on what it is not. It does not reformat a clip you already have: it works on live streams, and file uploads and video URLs are only on Creator Plus. It has a light clip editor, not a full one. Plans start at $24.99 a month after a 7 day free trial. See the Twitch clipper.
If you post a few hand-picked clips a week, like dragging the frames yourself and already pay for Streamlabs Ultra, Cross Clip Pro is included and there is little reason to move. If you mostly post your own channel's clips, try Twitch's portrait clips and direct posting first, since they are free and built in. Move on when the bottleneck is finding the moments, not framing them.
Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial: 1 channel and 5 streaming hours to try it on a real stream. Nothing is charged today, and we email you the day before it ends.
Yes. Streamlabs still runs it as Cross Clip at streamlabs.com/cross-clip, with a web editor and a mobile app. Checked 15 October 2026.
The free version works but adds a watermark and an outro. Cross Clip Pro removes them and exports 1080p 60fps; the App Store lists it at $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year. It is also part of Streamlabs Ultra.
Yes. Streamlabs says Cross Clip supports Kick clips, and the app's latest update, in September 2024, fixed Kick imports.
They do different jobs. Crossclip reformats a clip you picked; Eklipse finds clips in your whole stream after it ends. Crossclip is free with a watermark; Eklipse Premium is $24.99 a month with no free clipping tier.
Twitch itself. Every new clip gets an auto cropped portrait version, and channel owners can post straight to TikTok. StreamLadder's basic editor is free too, at 720p.
