What happened to Powder? powder.gg now redirects to a farewell note to the Powder community: the company stretched its finances as far as it could and can no longer sustain the app. It is no longer updated or maintained, subscriptions are cancelled so they will not renew, and yearly refunds for unused time are offered where possible. No replacement tool is named. If you have Powder clips you care about, download them now. Then pick a clipper that fits how you stream: ReelShift if you want clips while you are live, Eklipse or StreamLadder if a post-stream VOD workflow is fine.

The shutdown notice does not say how long anything stays online. Download every clip you might want before it disappears. Anything already posted to TikTok, Shorts or Reels is safe where it is.
Eklipse vs Powder: what changed
Eklipse's own comparison page says Powder shut down in July 2026. Powder's farewell note, which powder.gg now points to, says the app is no longer updated or maintained and that all active subscriptions are being cancelled. If Eklipse is where you are headed, here is what is different.
- Where it runs. Eklipse's comparison page describes Powder as a Windows app that clipped on your own PC. Eklipse runs on the web, iOS and Android. You connect Twitch, Kick or YouTube once, and Eklipse says there is nothing to upload and no recording software to run during the stream.
- When clips arrive. Eklipse picks up each new VOD and scans the whole stream after it ends. Clips show up once that processing is done.
- Price. Eklipse has been paid only since June 2026. Premium is $24.99 a month on the web, $27.99 in its mobile app, or $179.99 a year, and a free account only previews the clips from one stream.
- Kick and voice. Kick is Premium only. Saying "clip it", "clip this" or "clip that" works on the paid plan, and those clips arrive with the rest after the stream.
- Posting. Eklipse can schedule and post to TikTok, Reels and Shorts from inside the app.
