On a phone, the KICK Go Live app works for any Kick account.

Kick's stream settings

From Kick's help center:

  • Resolution: up to 1920x1080
  • Frame rate: up to 60fps
  • Bitrate: up to 8,000 kbps, constant bitrate (CBR)
  • Encoder: H.264 only (x264, or your graphics card's H.264 option). Do not pick HEVC or AV1.
  • Keyframe interval: 2 seconds

Why viewers see 720p: Kick shows smaller channels at up to 720p60. 1080p for viewers unlocks once your channel reaches Kick's engagement milestone (around 75 average viewers). You can still send 1080p.

If your stream stutters, lower the bitrate or drop to 720p before anything else.

Clip your Kick streams while live

Kick's own Clip button (or the C key) saves 10 to 180 seconds in the wide 16:9 frame, one clip at a time. ReelShift does it automatically: it watches your Kick stream while you are live and hands you vertical clips with captions, ready for TikTok, Shorts and Reels. Say "clip that" to save the last 60 seconds yourself. See the Kick clipper or every way to clip on Kick.
