Partner is the one Twitch program you apply for instead of being invited to. Here is what Twitch's help center asks for today, checked 16 October 2026.

Short answer: to apply for Twitch Partner you complete the Path to Partner achievement: 6 streams on 6 different days averaging 75 viewers in the last 30 days, plus another 6 streams averaging 75 viewers in the 30 days before that. That is 12 qualifying streams over about two months. There is no follower target and no hours target. Your recent VODs must be public and you need no suspension in the last 60 days. Then you apply, and Twitch's Partnerships team reviews it, typically within 2 weeks. Hitting the numbers makes you eligible to apply, not accepted.
| Affiliate | Partner | |
|---|---|---|
| Followers | 25 | No follower target |
| Streaming | 4 hours on 4 different days | 6 streams on 6 different days, in each of two 30 day windows |
| Viewers | 3 average, on 4 different days | 75 average on every stream that counts |
| Time window | One 30 day window | Last 30 days, plus days 30 to 60 |
| How you get in | Invite, typically 24 to 48 hours after you qualify | You apply, review typically up to 2 weeks |
| Other conditions | Two-factor authentication | Two-factor authentication, public recent VODs, no suspension in 60 days |
| Age 13 to 17 | With parent or guardian consent | Parent or guardian accepts the agreement for you |
From Twitch's help center (Achievements, Joining the Affiliate Program, Tips for Applying to the Partner Program, Partner Onboarding Guide), checked 16 October 2026.
Twitch's Achievements page lists two targets:
How Twitch counts them:
There is no follower or hours number in the Partner criteria. The 25 follower target belongs to Affiliate, covered in Twitch Affiliate requirements.
The newest change Twitch put a date on was to Affiliate, not Partner: its Monetization for All post of 13 May 2026 says the Affiliate bar dropped in early June 2026. No Twitch blog post from 2024 to 2026 announces a Path to Partner change, and the help pages do not say when the current wording started.
So go by the Achievements page as it reads now: qualifying streams across two 30 day windows in a row, no hours target, no follower target. If a guide gives you an hours target for Partner, it does not match Twitch's help center. Your Achievements dashboard is the final word, since that is where the Apply button unlocks.
Changes that did touch Partner:
Coming from Affiliate, your details, tax interviews and payout method carry over, so it is quick. Streamers who did not come from Affiliate fill in every step. Twitch says tax forms usually validate in 24 to 48 hours.
Twitch says its Partnerships team weighs streaming consistency, consistent viewership and engagement. Its help pages name these ways to fall short:
A denial does not hurt your chances later, per Twitch, and the rejection email says what to improve. The help pages give no waiting period before you apply again. Twitch may also accept channels outside the criteria for exceptional growth or a large audience on another platform.
Subs, Bits, ads, sponsorships and the Plus Program work at both levels, and payouts run on the same schedule from a $50 minimum ($100 by wire). The differences Twitch documents:
The sub split does not change. Partner status does not raise it by itself. The standard share is 50%, and the way up is the Plus Program, on the same terms for both levels: 60/40 at 100 Plus Points a month for 3 months in a row, 70/30 at 300. The dollar math is in how much Twitch pays.
The Partner Plus Program is the old name. Twitch launched it for Partners in October 2023 and renamed it in May 2024, when Affiliates could join. You must accept the Monetized Streamer Agreement before the months you want counted, and the higher share lasts 12 months from your latest qualifying date. Example arithmetic: 100 Plus Points in a month is 100 recurring Tier 1 subs, or 17 Tier 3 subs (17 × 6 = 102). Weighing platforms instead? See Kick vs Twitch.
Path to Partner is a viewer target, and steady viewers come from new people finding you. Clips on TikTok, Shorts and Reels are one of the main ways that happens; how to grow on Twitch covers the rest.
ReelShift clips your Twitch stream while you are still live. It follows what you say, the stories, jokes and big reactions, and hands back vertical clips with word-synced captions, ready to post. Say "clip that" to save the last 60 seconds. The 7 day free trial covers 1 channel and 5 streaming hours, with a card required and nothing charged today. See the Twitch clipper.
Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial: 1 channel and 5 streaming hours to try it on a real stream. Nothing is charged today, and we email you the day before it ends.
Complete Path to Partner: 6 streams on 6 different days averaging 75 viewers in the last 30 days, plus 6 more in days 30 to 60. You also need public recent VODs and no suspension in 60 days. Then you apply.
Twitch's Partner criteria include no follower count. The 25 follower target is for Affiliate.
Twitch says review typically takes up to 2 weeks, longer when it gets more applications than expected. The answer comes by email.
Yes, from 13. A parent or legal guardian must accept the Monetized Streamer Agreement for you. In Australia the minimum age to use Twitch is 16.
Not automatically. Both start at the standard 50% and can reach 60/40 or 70/30 through the Plus Program, formerly the Partner Plus Program.
Read the rejection email for what to improve. Twitch says a denial does not hurt your chances later, and sets no waiting period before you apply again.
