Twitch pay?
Twitch pays a share of subs, Bits and ads, and the shares changed in 2026. Here is each one, with the math, and what Twitch still does not publish.

Short answer: a Tier 1 sub costs $5.99 in the US and the standard split is 50/50, so about $3 per sub. Through the Plus Program that becomes 60/40, then 70/30. Bits pay 1 cent each. Ads pay a 55% share when you run at least 3 minutes of ads per hour. You need Affiliate or Partner to be paid at all, and the minimum payout is $50. Twitch publishes no rate per hour or per viewer.

Subscriptions: 50/50, and how to reach 70/30
- Prices: $5.99, $9.99 and $24.99 in the US, with local pricing elsewhere.
- Standard split: 50/50.
- Plus Program: earn 100 Plus Points a month for 3 months in a row and you move to 60/40. At 300 points it becomes 70/30. A Tier 1 sub is 1 point, Tier 2 is 2, Tier 3 is 6.
Bits and ads
- Bits: you get 1 cent per Bit cheered, so 1,000 Bits is $10.
- Ads: Affiliates and Partners who run 3 or more minutes of ads per hour get a 55% share of ad revenue. Running 3 minutes also turns off the pre-roll ad new viewers see.
- Channel Points: viewers earn them by watching. They cost nothing and pay nothing.
You need Affiliate first
Since June 2026 the Affiliate bar is 4 hours streamed, on 4 different days, 25 followers and 3 average viewers. Twitch opened Bits, subs and Channel Points to all eligible streamers in May 2026, but you still need Affiliate or Partner to receive a payout. What Twitch does not publish
Twitch has no published rate per hour, per viewer, per 1,000 viewers or per view. Earnings come from subs, Bits, ads and sponsors, so two channels with the same viewer count can earn very differently. Any "Twitch pays $X per 1,000 viewers" chart is someone's estimate, not a Twitch figure.
