StreamLadder
A free plan with the manual clip editor (720p, 30fps exports). Starter is $15 a month. Creator, $27 a month, adds unlimited ClipGPT, which analyzes your whole VOD after the stream and returns up to 30 clips per stream. You can say "clip that" while live to mark a moment for later. 7-day free trial.
Opus Clip
Upload a long video or paste a link and it picks moments, adds captions and reframes with object tracking. Free plan: 60 credits a month, watermark, clips exportable for 3 days. Starter $15 a month, Pro $29 a month (less billed yearly). Twitch links are on Pro. No live clipping mentioned on its site.
Vizard
Upload a video and get AI clips with captions, plus a full editor and post scheduling on paid plans. Free plan: 60 credits a month (1 credit is 1 minute of video), 720p exports. Creator is $29 a month, or $14.50 a month billed yearly, with no watermark. No live clipping mentioned.
Crayo
Built for faceless channels: fake text videos, Reddit story videos, split screen and more. Its Auto Clip cuts uploaded long videos, including Twitch or Kick VODs, into captioned clips after the fact. Plans start at $13 a month billed yearly ($160 a year). No free plan listed on its pricing page.

We looked at four things on each tool's own website: what it clips from (a live stream, a VOD or an upload), which platforms it works with, what it does to the clip (captions, vertical reframing), and what it costs, including any free plan. Facts were checked on each tool's own site on 19 September 2026. ReelShift is our product, so we have tried to be plain about where the others do better.
One tool you may remember is missing: Powder. powder.gg now points to a notice from the team saying the app is no longer updated or maintained and subscriptions are cancelled.
Best for live streams: ReelShift
Every other tool here starts after the stream. ReelShift clips during it, so a moment can be on TikTok while the stream is still going and people are still talking about it. It works from the public stream, so there is nothing to install and no chat bot.
Where it is weaker: there is no free plan (the 7-day trial needs a card), streaming hours are metered, and uploading files or pasting VOD links is on Creator Plus ($59.99 a month), not the $24.99 Creator plan.
Best after the stream: Eklipse and StreamLadder
Eklipse is the one to beat for gameplay. Its site says it reads kill feeds, scoreboards and win screens, so a silent clutch can still become a clip, and it tunes detection per game. If your clips are mostly FPS or battle royale plays and you are happy to wait until after the stream, it is a strong pick.
StreamLadder is best if you like to edit by hand. The free editor is useful on its own, and ClipGPT on the Creator plan adds VOD clipping for Twitch and Kick with captions, hashtags and hooks.
Best for podcasts and faceless: Opus Clip, Vizard, Crayo
If your content is a podcast, an interview or a long YouTube video, Opus Clip and Vizard do that job better than a live clipper. They take files and links, handle talking heads well, and both let you start on a free plan. Opus Clip adds a Virality Score and AI B-roll on paid plans.
