Opus Clip is optimized for finished content: a two-hour podcast becomes ten shorts. It is excellent at that, and its free tier lets you try it. But its pipeline starts when the file is done. For a live streamer, that is hours after the moment that would have gone viral.
ReelShift starts when you go live. It reads your chat and your audio as signals, understands face-cam-over-gameplay layouts, cuts the moment in seconds and lets you call clips with your voice. The clip is in your library while you are still on air.
Long-form uploads, a free tier, and a lower entry price. If your main content is recorded and you mostly want captioned shorts from it, Opus is the better fit and cheaper to start.
Anything live. Twitch, Kick, YouTube and TikTok LIVE on every plan, real-time detection, voice command, unlimited clips, and clips that exist before the VOD does.
