The difference is timing
Eklipse's own pages describe the pipeline: the stream ends, the full VOD is analyzed, clips appear in your dashboard. For a six-hour stream, a moment from hour one becomes a clip after hour six. ReelShift never waits for the VOD. It connects to the live signal, reads audio spikes, emotion, gameplay highs and chat velocity as they happen, and has the clip cut, word-captioned and reframed vertical seconds later.
That matters because short-form rewards the first clip of a moment. When the clip exists while chat is still going off, it can be on TikTok while the stream is still trending.
Voice command: same phrase, different result
Both tools listen for "clip it", "clip this" or "clip that". On Eklipse it is a paid-plan feature and, per their page, the callouts land next to the AI-detected clips after the stream. On ReelShift it is on every plan, every platform including TikTok Live, and the clip lands in your library a few minutes after you say it, while you are still live.
Kick and TikTok Live
Eklipse lists Kick as a Premium-only source and does not list TikTok Live. ReelShift includes Twitch, Kick, YouTube and TikTok Live on every plan.
Where Eklipse wins
Breadth of extras. Eklipse ships montage makers, schedule and panel makers, per-game pages and a longer track record with FPS highlight detection. If you want one subscription that also makes your Twitch panels, that is Eklipse. It is also cheaper on an annual plan.

Does Eklipse clip while you are live?
Its site says detection runs across the full VOD after the stream ends. Real-time clipping is not described. ReelShift clips the live stream itself.
Does either have a free plan?
Not for clipping. Eklipse's blog says its free clipping tier was discontinued in June 2026. ReelShift has never had one.
Can I use both?
Yes. Neither installs anything on your stream, so running both is harmless. Most people pick one once they see which clips they actually post.
