See what Super Chats, Super Stickers, Super Thanks and channel memberships leave you, in dollars or your own currency, per month and per hour. Built on what YouTube publishes: 70% to you, after tax and App Store fees.
You keep this month
$419.30
70% of what viewers paid, after the tax you entered. On iPhone and iPad, App Store fees also come off first, and YouTube does not publish them. Before any bank fee.
More Super Chats come from more viewers. ReelShift clips your YouTube live stream while you are still live, so new people find you on TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
Try ReelShift free →YouTube keeps 30%. Its help center says creators receive 70% of Supers revenue, and that the 70% is calculated after local sales tax and App Store fees on iOS are deducted. Card fees and other transaction costs are currently covered by YouTube. Super Stickers and Super Thanks are split the same way. So for the common amounts, checked 21 October 2026:
| Super Chat | YouTube keeps | Creator keeps, at most |
|---|---|---|
| $1 | $0.30 | $0.70 |
| $5 | $1.50 | $3.50 |
| $20 | $6 | $14 |
| $100 | $30 | $70 |
| $500 | $150 | $350 |
| $1,000 in a month | $300 | $700 |
"At most", because tax and App Store fees come off before the split. A $100 Super Chat that includes tax, or that was bought in the YouTube app on an iPhone, leaves the creator less than $70. What YouTube pays for ads and Shorts is in how much does YouTube pay.
In a live stream or a Premiere, the viewer clicks the dollar sign in the live chat and picks Super Chat or a Super Sticker. For a Super Chat, they set the amount by dragging a slider or typing it. Viewers pay in their own currency. YouTube's help pages do not list a minimum or a maximum for one Super Chat. They do say that one under US$5, or the local equivalent, does not show in the ticker pinned above the chat, and that the more a viewer pays, the longer it stays pinned.
Each viewer also has a daily and weekly spending cap on Supers, and it varies by country. YouTube's Super Chat page says up to US$2,000 a day and US$8,000 a week; its Super Thanks page says US$500 a day and US$2,000 a week in general. Super Thanks is for videos and Shorts, not for a stream while it is live, and comes at a few set price points: at its launch in July 2021, YouTube listed four, from $2 to $50.
Channel memberships are paid monthly. You pick each level's price from YouTube's list, 25 steps from $0.99 to $499.99 in the US, and you can have up to 6 levels. The creator gets 70% after taxes and fees, the same split as Super Chat. At $4.99 a month:
| Members | Members pay a month | Creator keeps, at most |
|---|---|---|
| 10 members | $49.90 | $34.93 |
| 50 members | $249.50 | $174.65 |
| 100 members | $499 | $349.30 |
| 500 members | $2,495 | $1,746.50 |
| 1,000 members | $4,990 | $3,493 |
The same 100 members at other US levels:
| Level | 100 members pay | Creator keeps, at most |
|---|---|---|
| $0.99 | $99 | $69.30 |
| $1.99 | $199 | $139.30 |
| $2.99 | $299 | $209.30 |
| $9.99 | $999 | $699.30 |
| $24.99 | $2,499 | $1,749.30 |
| $49.99 | $4,999 | $3,499.30 |
If YouTube refunds a member, your share of that payment is taken back.
Members are charged in their own currency, at prices YouTube sets for each country, not at the exchange rate. YouTube has been rolling out new prices since May 2025, and members who joined earlier keep their old price for now. The $4.99 level today, from YouTube's pricing pages:
| Member lives in | Pays a month | About, in US dollars | 100 members, creator keeps at most |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States | $4.99 | $4.99 | $349.30 |
| Canada | C$7.49 | $5.33 | C$524.30 |
| United Kingdom | £4.99 | $6.66 | £349.30 |
| Spain, Germany | €4.99 | $5.59 | €349.30 |
| Australia | A$7.49 | $5.23 | A$524.30 |
| Mexico | MXN 69 | $3.73 | MXN 4,830 |
| Brazil | R$19.99 | $3.98 | R$1,399.30 |
YouTube also says memberships may be priced differently depending on the platform, so a member who joins in the iPhone app can pay another price. When you switch currency, the calculator moves the membership price to YouTube's own price for the same level. Exchange rates are from 20 October 2026: European Central Bank reference rates for the euro, pound, Canadian and Australian dollar, real and Mexican peso, and ExchangeRate-API for the Colombian, Argentine and Chilean peso and the Peruvian sol. They change every day.
YouTube's wording, from its help center on 21 October 2026: Supers pay 70% "calculated after local sales tax and App Store fees on iOS are deducted", Super Thanks 70% "after taxes and fees are deducted (including App Store fees on iOS)", and memberships 70% "after applicable taxes and fees are deducted". Its partner earnings page adds that transaction taxes such as sales tax, VAT and GST are not revenue to Google and are not part of the revenue share.
YouTube does not publish the tax for each country or the size of the App Store fee. So the calculator works like this: if the amounts you enter include a tax such as VAT, put its rate in the tax field and it comes off before the 70%. Purchases made in the YouTube app on iPhone or iPad leave you less than the calculator shows, by an amount YouTube does not publish. To compare platforms, try the Kick calculator or the Twitch sub calculator.
Super Chat and Super Stickers do not work on videos that are age restricted, unlisted, private, made for kids or running a YouTube Giving fundraiser, or when live chat or comments are off. Memberships need a channel that is not set as made for kids. YouTube is updating the Partner Program on 1 February 2027, and says the fan funding requirements and revenue share are not changing. Channels still on the older fan funding terms, usually those that turned the features on before 2023, must accept the Commerce Product Module by 31 January 2027 to keep earning from them. Supers and memberships are paid through AdSense for YouTube, on the same monthly cycle as ad revenue. Last month's earnings are finalized between the 7th and the 12th. If your balance on the 20th has reached the payment threshold, US$100 (or Mex$1,200, €70 or S/300 in those currencies), payment is issued between the 21st and the 26th, and a bank transfer then takes up to 7 business days. Below the threshold, the balance rolls over to the next month.
Super Chats come from people watching live, so every line in this calculator grows with how many people find your stream, and short clips are one way new viewers do. ReelShift watches your YouTube live stream and cuts vertical clips with word synced captions of what you say, the loud moments and the kills and wins on screen, while you are still live. Say "clip that" to save the last 60 seconds. Every plan starts with a 7 day free trial. YouTube's own Clip button is covered in how to clip YouTube Live.
30%. Creators get 70% of Super Chat, Super Sticker and Super Thanks revenue, worked out after local sales tax and, for purchases on iPhone or iPad, App Store fees. YouTube currently covers card fees.
$30, so the creator keeps up to $70. If the $100 includes sales tax, or it was bought in the YouTube app on an iPhone, those come off first and the creator gets less.
At $4.99 a month, 100 members pay $499 and the creator keeps up to $349.30 a month. YouTube takes the same 30% from memberships as from Super Chats, after taxes and fees.
Channels in the YouTube Partner Program, run by someone 18 or older who lives where Super Chat is available. In the US and the other expanded program countries the program opens at 500 subscribers, 3 public uploads in 90 days, and 3,000 watch hours in 12 months or 3 million Shorts views in 90 days.
