Short answer: to become a Twitch Affiliate you need 25 followers, 4 hours streamed, 4 different streaming days and an average of 3 viewers on 4 different days. All four have to happen inside the same 30 day window. Twitch lowered these in early June 2026: it used to be 50 followers, 8 hours and 7 different days. If a guide tells you 50 followers, it is out of date.
| Before June 2026 | Now | |
|---|---|---|
| Followers | 50 | 25 |
| Hours streamed | 8 | 4 |
| Different days | 7 | 4 |
| Average viewers | 3 average | 3 average, on 4 different days |
| Time window | 30 days | 30 days |

The 3 viewers means 3 people watching at the same time, not 3 views in total. That is the part people misread.
The good news is how forgivingly it is counted. Days below 3 average viewers do not count against you. If you streamed 10 days in the last 30 and 4 of them averaged 3 or more concurrent viewers, you have met it. The other 6 days are simply ignored.
So you do not need to be consistently good. You need 4 good days.
All four targets have to be true inside the same 30 day period. It is not a lifetime total.
In practice that means a burst works better than a trickle. Four decent streams across two weeks will get you there faster than one stream a month for a year.
Affiliate unlocks subscriptions, Bits and ads on your channel. It is the point where the channel can start earning at all.
The subscription split at Affiliate is the standard 50/50, so a $4.99 Tier 1 is worth about $2.50 to you. Details in how much is a Twitch sub.
Three of the four targets are just showing up: 4 hours across 4 days is a fortnight of light streaming. The one that stops people is 3 average viewers.
Three concurrent viewers is a tiny number, but it does not come from streaming into an empty room. It comes from people finding you somewhere else first. Clips on TikTok, Reels and Shorts are how most small channels get their first handful.
ReelShift clips your stream while it is happening, so you have something to post the same night instead of editing at 2am.
Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial: 1 channel and 5 streaming hours to try it on a real stream. Nothing is charged today, and we email you the day before it ends.

Yes. In early June 2026 it dropped from 50 followers to 25, from 8 hours to 4, and from 7 different days to 4.
No. It means an average of 3 people watching at the same time, and only on 4 different days. Days below that are ignored rather than held against you.
They have to happen inside the same rolling 30 day window, which is not the same as a calendar month.
