Short answer: Spikes is Spikes Studio, an AI clip generator that works from a video you upload or link, and names YouTube and Twitch on its site. Eklipse is the specialist: it reads game events like kills and round wins, has a voice command and a mobile app, and costs $24.99 a month with no free plan. Spikes Studio is the generalist: a free plan with demo clips and a watermark, then PRO+ at $32.99 a month, or $14.09 a month billed yearly. Neither one clips while you are still live.

Spikes Studio, at spikes.studio. It calls itself an AI clip generator for YouTube, Twitch, TikTok and Reels: you upload a long video or drop in a link, and its in-house AI, which it says was trained on hundreds of thousands of broadcasts, picks the moments, adds captions and resizes the clips for each platform. Around that it has AI B-roll, music and sound effects, a scheduler for TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn, and analytics. It says it supports 99+ languages.
Its audience is broad. The use cases on its site are agencies, creators, podcasts, marketers, media, churches and politics. Its home page now also leads with a new micro-drama engine and library, open for early access sign ups, while the clip generator stays on sale.
Eklipse does one job deeply: highlights from gaming streams. You link Twitch, Kick or YouTube once and it picks up each new VOD by itself. Its engine reads kills, clutches, wins and round results from the picture across 3,000+ titles, so a quiet play still counts, and a July 2026 update added Just Chatting, IRL and podcast segments.
Premium adds a voice command (say "clip it", "clip this" or "clip that" while live and the moment is waiting after the stream), AI Edit, which adds memes and captions, exports at 1080p 60fps, publishing to TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels and Discord with scheduling, and an iOS and Android app for reviewing clips away from the desk.
It is now paid only. A free account previews clips from one recent stream; making and exporting clips needs Premium at $24.99 a month on the web or $179.99 a year. There is no time-limited trial.
Spikes Studio charges by minutes of video, and its yearly discount is large.
For a streamer the minutes matter more than the price. One 4 hour stream is 240 minutes, so PRO+ billed monthly covers about one long stream a month. Eklipse Premium includes unlimited AI clipping for one flat price.
Eklipse, going by their own descriptions. It reads game state, such as kill feeds, scoreboards, eliminations and victory screens, with separate tuning per genre, and it sizes each clip to the play. Spikes Studio describes general moment detection and a virality score, and does not say it reads game events.
The workflow gap is bigger than the detection gap. Eklipse picks up every stream from a connected channel, and Premium promises unlimited AI clipping. On Spikes Studio, every video you process draws down your minutes. If you stream long hours, that difference shows up in the first week.
The picture flips for talk. If you clip podcasts, sermons, interviews or marketing video, Spikes Studio is aimed at you, and Eklipse is tuned for games first. If your stream is mostly conversation, also read clipping Just Chatting streams.
Eklipse against other tools: Eklipse vs StreamLadder and Eklipse vs Vidyo.
Both tools deliver after you go offline. Eklipse's help center says that with live processing on, clips are ready to review shortly after the broadcast ends. Spikes Studio works from a video you upload or link, after it exists. Neither has the clip ready while the moment is still fresh.
ReelShift is built for that window. It watches the live stream on Twitch, Kick, YouTube or TikTok LIVE and cuts each moment seconds after it happens, following what you say, like a story, a joke or a big reaction, and on game streams the kills and wins on screen. Clips land in your library minutes later, vertical with word-synced captions, ready to post while you are still on. Say "clip that" and it saves the last 60 seconds. Every plan includes all four platforms, unlimited clips and the voice command, from $24.99 a month, and starts with a 7-day free trial.
It is not for everyone: there is no free plan, uploads and video URLs need Creator Plus, and it has a clip editor rather than a full video editor. More on the "clip that" voice command and clipping Twitch while live.
Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial: 1 channel and 5 streaming hours to try it on a real stream. Nothing is charged today, and we email you the day before it ends.
Spikes Studio, at spikes.studio: an AI clip generator that turns long videos into captioned clips sized for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, with a scheduler and analytics. You upload a file or paste a link.
Month to month, Eklipse: Premium is $24.99 with unlimited AI clipping, while Spikes Studio PRO+ is $32.99 for 300 minutes. Billed yearly, Spikes Studio is slightly cheaper, $14.09 a month against about $14.99, but capped at 3,600 minutes a year.
Its public pages name Twitch and do not list Kick, so check in the app before paying. Eklipse connects your Twitch, Kick or YouTube channel and processes each stream automatically.
Not that its site states. Eklipse has one on Premium, and ReelShift has one on every plan.
No. With live processing on, Eklipse has clips ready shortly after the broadcast ends, and Spikes Studio works from a video you upload or link once it exists. ReelShift cuts clips during the live stream.
