What one KICK actually costs

Kick sells KICKs in packs, and the smallest pack in its web store is 500 KICKs for $5.29. There is no pack of 100 or 50. Those smaller numbers are amounts you can send, not amounts you can buy.

Across the web packs, one KICK costs about 1.05 cents. Buying big does not get you a discount. 10,000 KICKs cost $105.29, about the same as twenty 500 packs, and the 25,000 pack at $267.99 works out slightly more per KICK than the small ones.

To buy, Kick's help page says to click the KICKs icon next to your avatar in the top bar, or your KICKs balance or the Get KICKs button inside a channel. In the app, it is the balance or the Get KICKs button in a channel.

Once you have a balance, you send KICKs from the KICKs icon under the chat box. Kick lists the amounts you can send: 1, 10, 50, 100, 500, 1,000, 2,000, 5,000, 10,000 or 50,000. The more you send, the longer your message stays pinned in the chat carousel, and bigger, newer messages sit closer to the front. Moderators and the streamer can delete a pinned message, and the KICKs are not returned.

What the streamer really gets

Kick's revenue split page says the streamer receives 95% of the value of KICKs sent on their channel. The other 5% is a processing fee, the same split Kick uses for subscriptions.

What Kick does not publish is what one KICK is worth once it reaches the streamer. If you apply the 95% to the web price, every pack comes out at almost exactly one cent per KICK: 95% of $10.55 is $10.02 for 1,000 KICKs. Treat that as arithmetic, not a rate Kick has promised.

To receive KICKs at all, Kick says a channel needs Streamer status in its Achievements and a finished Stripe Connect setup. The money then arrives with the rest of the channel's earnings on Kick's normal schedule, covered in when does Kick pay.

Buy on the web, not in the iPhone app

Kick's App Store page lists its in-app prices, and they are well above the website's:

• 500 KICKs: $7.99 in the iPhone app, $5.29 on the web.
• 1,000 KICKs: $15.49 in the app, $10.55 on the web.
• A gifted Tier 1 sub: $6.49 in the app, against Kick's flat $5 sub price.

That is roughly 50% more for the same KICKs. If you tip from an iPhone, buying your KICKs on kick.com from a computer is the cheaper route.

Local prices, refunds and expiry

• Local pricing. Kick's international payments page says there is no regional pricing and every KICKs purchase is in US dollars at one global price. Your bank converts the charge and may add its own fee. One exception shows up in Kick's own web store: each pack also carries a price in Brazilian reais, for example R$25.90 for 500 KICKs.
• Refunds. None. Kick's KICKs guide says all KICKs transactions are final and non-refundable, and its terms say Kick may revoke KICKs after a chargeback.
• Expiry. Kick publishes no expiry date for KICKs. Its terms of service say unused KICKs are forfeited if your account is terminated or deleted, and that Kick can change or discontinue them. If it does discontinue them, you get a period Kick decides is reasonable to use what is left.
• Gift prices can change. Kick's terms describe KICKs as what you spend to activate Gifts in chat, and say Kick can raise or lower how many KICKs a Gift needs at any time.
• Not money. Kick's KICKs Usage Policy says KICKs are not currency and have no cash value for the viewer. You cannot cash them out, sell them or trade them to other users.

KICKs vs subs vs Twitch Bits

• A Kick sub is a flat $5 a month, recurring, with perks on the channel. The streamer gets $4.75. The full picture is in how much Kick pays.
• KICKs are one-off tips with no perks beyond a pinned message, from $5.29 for 500 on the web. The streamer gets 95% of their value.

On the arithmetic above, a $5 sub and 500 KICKs land close to the same amount for the streamer. The difference is that the sub repeats every month and the KICKs do not.
