Short answer: a Kick clip can be 10 to 180 seconds (3 minutes), on both desktop and mobile. You set the length with the slider in the Create clip window. That is three times longer than a Twitch clip, which can be up to 60 seconds.
How to set the clip length
- Click the Clip icon on the player, or press C.
- In the Create clip window, drag the slider handles to choose the part you want, anywhere from 10 to 180 seconds.
- Add a title and click Publish.
After each clip there is a 60-second wait before you can make another.

How long should it be?
Being allowed 3 minutes does not mean you should use them. For TikTok, Shorts and Reels, a stream clip usually works best when it starts right at the moment and ends as soon as the payoff lands. Instagram also says it does not recommend Reels over 3 minutes to new audiences. Trim the build-up, keep the reaction.
