Why the first 100 matter

Several official milestones sit under or near 100 followers:

• Twitch Affiliate: 25 followers, plus 4 hours streamed on 4 different days and 3 average viewers.
• YouTube mobile live: 50 subscribers to go live from the YouTube app.

Your first 100 is also social proof: people are more likely to stay in a chat that already has people in it.

1. A niche and a schedule

"I play games" is not a niche. "Blind first playthroughs of horror games" or "chill late night art streams" is. A clear niche gives people a reason to follow you over the thousand other channels in the category.

Then pick days and times you can keep for months. Kick's help center says it directly: a good time you can stick to beats an optimal time. Post the schedule on your channel and your socials. On Twitch, a set schedule even shows up when other streamers shout you out, with a button to set a reminder.

2. A profile that converts

• Same name everywhere, so someone who finds your clip on TikTok can find your stream.
• A one line bio that says what you stream.
• Your schedule in your bio or panels.
• A clear profile picture that reads at small size.
• Specific stream titles. Kick's example: "Playing Elden Ring for the first time" beats "stream".

3. Clips after every stream

Live directories favor channels that already have viewers. Short videos do not: a good clip can reach people who have never heard of you. After each stream, post two or three of your best moments as vertical clips with captions and your channel name. This is the step that brings most new people in, and the one most new streamers skip. 4. Collabs and communities

• Collab with streamers your size. Twitch has Shared Chat and Stream Together. On Kick, each of you streams on your own channel.
• Raid and shout out. On Twitch, /shoutout shows your viewers a Follow button for another channel. People remember who raided them.
• Be a regular in Discords and subreddits for your game or niche. Help first, share your stream when it fits the rules.
• Tell people before you go live. Kick suggests posting on social media 30 to 60 minutes before you start.
