How to grow on
TikTok LIVE.

1. Schedule and LIVE Events

TikTok's LIVE Studio help center puts it simply: regularly scheduled LIVEs attract and keep an audience, so post your schedule in your bio. It also says LIVE Events can increase viewership.

A LIVE Event tells followers ahead of time when you will be live. They can register and get notified when you start. In the app, tap +, then LIVE, then Create an event. You can also make one in TikTok Studio under LIVE, then LIVE Events. Viewers see the time in their own time zone.

Pick a slot you can keep every week. A follower who knows you are live every Tuesday night is far more likely to show up than one who has to guess.

2. Run the room like TikTok suggests

• Greet people as they join, and thank viewers by name.
• Ask questions and share stories. A silent LIVE loses people fast.
• Pick a theme for each LIVE, so a new viewer knows what is going on.
• Keep overlays simple.
• Ask viewers to follow and to share the LIVE.
• Choose moderators who help build the community, not just ban people.
• Hold community events like game nights or tournaments.
• Review your analytics after each LIVE to see when people joined and when they left.

3. Short videos feed your LIVE

TikTok's advice includes posting clips, highlights and your upcoming schedule on your profile, and posting videos consistently. A video that does well sends people to your profile, and your profile shows when you are live next.

TikTok saves your LIVE replays for 30 days (TikTok Studio, LIVE, LIVE recordings), where you can download or clip them. If you stream with LIVE Studio on a computer, you can save highlights of 30 seconds to 2 minutes while live, and Ctrl+1 saves the past 2 minutes. More in TikTok LIVE highlights.

4. Gifts: thank, don't beg

Thanking your top gifters is part of TikTok's own advice. But TikTok's LIVE Monetization Guidelines do not allow:

• Misleading promises, or offering likes, follows or Gifts in exchange for Gifts.
• Pressuring viewers through their emotions, sympathy or sense of obligation.
• Repeated, mechanical asking for Gifts.
