How to screen record
a TikTok LIVE.

On iPhone

1. Open the LIVE in TikTok.
2. Swipe down from the top right corner to open Control Center.
3. To record sound from your mic too, touch and hold the Record button and tap Microphone.
4. Tap the Record button and wait for the 3-second countdown.
5. To stop, open Control Center again and tap Record. The video is saved in Photos.

Apple notes that some apps may not allow recording, and you cannot record while screen mirroring.

On Android

1. Open the LIVE in TikTok.
2. Swipe down twice from the top of the screen.
3. Tap Screen record. Choose whether to record audio.
4. Tap Start. To stop, tap the screen recorder notification.

Menus differ a little by phone brand. On Pixel phones, some steps need Android 11 or newer.

On Windows

• Xbox Game Bar: press Windows+Alt+R to start and stop. Windows+Alt+M turns your mic on or off. The MP4 saves to Videos, Captures.
• Snipping Tool: press Windows+Shift+R, select the area, click Start, then Stop. It saves to your Screenshots folder.

On a Mac

1. Press Shift+Command+5.
2. Choose Record Entire Screen or Record Selected Portion.
3. Under Options, pick a microphone if you want your voice.
4. Click Record. Stop with the Stop button in the menu bar, or Command+Control+Esc. The video saves to your Desktop.

Can you repost it?

Recording a LIVE for yourself is one thing. Posting it is another. TikTok's copyright policy says content that infringes someone's copyright may be removed, and you are responsible for what you post. TikTok's For You feed rules also say content uploaded without new or creative edits, like a video with someone else's watermark, is not eligible for the For You feed. Get the host's permission first. Does TikTok tell the host you are recording? TikTok's help pages do not say it does.
